Planning with Modular Desk Components
Posted by Jack Roberts
Our company went through a program where we redesigned our private offices
and included with the office design evaluation was incorporating flexibility in
the desk components. We decided on an executive U configuration which allowed
more space for the computers, printers and such. The desks that were selected
were made up of separate components that allowed us to use the same desk in
either a right or left hand bridge desk layout. This was important to us since
we will be moving our company in three years and this gives us the flexibility
to locate the desks on either side of the room. Having the desk made up of
components may be a little more money than pre-built desk units, but it might be
worth it if there is a chance of moving the desk in the future.

Modular desk components is great to know. We are planning on changing the furniture in our offices to desks that can better position the computers and to have the offices better suite meetings. We have had situations that when we moved our office furniture to other offices, there were times that the return on the desk did not work in the office due to the side of the desk's return - good information.
