Seating Arrangements - Seperate Seating Groups
Posted by Jack Roberts
We are a law firm that recently moved an had an interior designer advise and select the office furniture for our new space. We had a problem with the reception area, were we had all the client seating located in one side of a large reception area. The problem is that we might not want all clients seating in the same area. Also, we had a sofa, which does not work – three people do not like to sit together. The design did not work. We ended up redesigning the reception area where we had two separate seating groups with four lounge chairs each. We also made a storage area located off of the lobby into a small conference room with a small lounge area. This reception design worked a lot better – the receptionist now directs our clients to each seating area. Get lounge chairs – work better than sofas.

Smart Idea. We use lounge chairs in groups to separate our venders that frequent our office. We also have a few smaller conference rooms that have small tables and a few chairs that the receptionist sends to upon their arrival. The office furniture that we purchased was smaller in scale, which gave us more seating groups as well as more room in the conference rooms. Venders Talk to each other!!!!

f you want to take a look at cost effective lobby seating that the chairs
may be arranged in a modular format in addition to the traditional lounge or
sofa format, take a look at Global Braden series lounge chair - I will give to
you the link to the Global Braden
Global Braden Series Lounge Chair . It worked well and for a lounge chair
under $250.00 , it is a great chair.

Just a note - your reception area is the first impression that your clients and venders have of your company. The office furniture and general interior design of the space is important to your companies image and culture. Make sure that the reception area is on that you can be proud of. Just as important, your receptionist needs to be top of the line when dealing with people, whether on the phone or greeting people that arrive in your office. The commentary on furniture is just part of the overall importance of the reception area
